Is your daughter wading through piles of clothes, magazines and random items every day? Teenage years can be confusing, your growing girl loves her childlike comforts but then is desperate to move on too - so her bedroom starts to fill up with new clothes, magazines and 'stuff' (some of which has no given name). So, where to start?
1. Wardrobe Space
New clothes may still appear on the floor, but if you don't provide the space then there really is no chance of anything being hung up. Encourage your daughter to clear out old clothes reularly, pass on to other members of the family or to charity shops to make space for new. You could even do this every time you make a new purchase. It's a good rule of thumb. We've lots of wardrobes that would work well, have a browse here. Put hooks on the back of doors and extra rails if necessary.
2. Mirrors and Lots of Them
Teenagers are fond of studying themselves, so rather than have them invading your space - make sure they can spend these hours in front of their own mirror. An added bonus is that they create light and space in a room. We have a huge range of mirrors to suit all styles (and all girls). Alternatively, customise existing ones with paint and/or lights.
3. Lighting
This is an area that can completely change a room, it can make it cozy and inviting but also make it feel bigger (if space is an issue). A good bedside lamp is essential for night time reading but make sure you include at least one string of fairy lights. They add warmth and fun. Any studying space will also need a spotlight or a desk lamp.
4. Desk
This might not be the most popular one, but assuming you want the best for your growing girl - providing a space to study is essential. Sometimes lying on their bed just doesn't instill the same discipline whereas sitting at a business-like desk with all its accessories puts them in the mood for success! Take a look at all sorts of options for this vital piece of furniture right here.
And for a final cool touch? What about a statement chair (like this hanging rattan one pictured)? A glamorous chandelier? They all help to distract from the little muddles on the floor!
